BRIEF ITINERARY

Day 1 Sydney: Arrive in Sydney at 8 am.

Day 2-3 Byron Bay: Travelling to Byron Bay, Australia's most easterly point, with numerous beaches, unspoilt countryside, and relaxed lifestyle. Here we can enjoy the fantastic views from the lighthouse and try to spot some dolphins. Have the opportunity to take an optional sea kayak, surfing or just relax at the beautiful sandy beaches.

Day 4 Hervey Bay: Journeying north we reach Queensland. Along its coast stretches the Great Barrier Reef, one of the seven natural world wonders and home to thousands of shimmering coral, colorful fish and marine species. On our way to Hervey Bay, we pass by the trendy Gold Coast and Brisbane, Australia’s fourth largest metropolis.

Day 5-6 Fraser Island (B,2L,D): In the morning we cross the sheltered waters of the Great Sandy Strait to Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world. We start our two-day 4 wheel-drive adventure checking out some of Fraser Island’s inland sights including Hammerstone Sand Blow, the ghostly remainders of the Maheno Shipwreck, the Coloured Sands, and the magnificent rainforest. We will learn about the island’s history, fauna and flora and can swim in freshwater creeks and crystal clear lakes.

Day 7 Baralaba, Queensland (D): Experience true Outback charm as you stay on a working farm. Explore this true Aussie ranch on an optional horseback excursion, or just do your own walkabout. Embrace the warm hospitality of your hosts at this farmstay and enjoy a proper Outback cookout.

Day 8-9 Myella Farm/Airlie Beach (Day 9B): Returning to the coast after a night experiencing the outback life at Myella Farm, head for the world famous Whitsundays. There is plenty of time to have fun and relax. Take an optional boat tour to the Great Barrier Reef or just soak up the Australian sun on one of the beautiful white sand beaches.

Day 10 Airlie Beach: Today is free time to experience the Whitsundays or just relax on the beach.

Day 11 Mission Beach: Working your way up the coast, fall upon Mission Beach and its sun-kissed white sandy beaches. Surrounded by lush rainforest, visit what is known to the locals as the tallest waterfall in Australia: Wallaman Falls.

Day 12 Cairns: Stopping at picturesque Millaa Millaa Falls, end your journey in Cairns. But first, a visit to Fig Tree National Park and the spectacular site of the world famous Curtain Fig Tree is in order.
