BRIEF ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrive Lima
Arrive in Lima at any time.

Day 2,3 Puno

Fly to Juliaca and drive to Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Enjoy a day trip out on the lake to visit Taquile and/or Amantani islands, stopping on the floating reed islands of the Uros people, before returning to Puno for a second night.

Day 4-6 Cuzco

Take in spectacular views of the Altiplano region on this full day of travel from Puno to Cuzco. Enjoy scenic stops along the way before arriving in Cuzco; the evening is free to relax. Spend a free day exploring this delightful town on foot, go horseback riding, mountain biking, white water rafting or visit the nearby ruins of Sacsayhuaman, a massive Incan fortress overlooking the city.

Day 7, 8 Aguas Calientes /Machu Picchu/ Cuzco

A morning train takes us through the spectacular Urubamba Valley to the village of Aguas Calientes. Enjoy the rest of the day taking advantage of the hikes and hot springs in the area. Early wakeup on Day 8 to take the bus up to the historic spiritual centre of the Incas, the "Lost City" of Machu Picchu. Take a guided tour of the ruins, learning about the history and importance of Machu Picchu. After our tour, continue exploring the ruins on your own or hike up spectacular Wayna Picchu to get away from the crowds. Return to Cuzco by train in the evening.
