BRIEF ITINERARY

Day 1, SHANGHAI: Arrival day. No meals.

Day 2, XI'AN - Fly to Xi'an: In the afternoon we have a guided tour of the Terracotta Warriors where we can learn about their fascinating history. (BLD)

Day 3, XI'AN: Free morning to explore the sights of the city, perhaps the lively Muslim Quarter and the Great Mosque. Overnight train to Beijing. (BL)

Day 4, BEIJING: Upon arrival we have a guided tour of the Temple of Heaven, which is also a good opportunity to see the locals enjoying their morning exercises. The afternoon is free to explore at your leisure, and in the evening there is the option to enjoy a performance of the famous Beijing Opera.

Day 5, BEIJING: A full day excursion to one of the less-visited but more impressive sections of the Great Wall. There is the option to hike for 12km, or you can just enjoy a picnic in the most spectacular surroundings. (B)

Day 6, BEIJING: A guided tour of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City will give us an insight into China's dynastic history. Overnight train to Shanghai. (BL)

Day 7, SHANGHAI: A day tour of the city where we will take in the Mandarin Gardens and the Bund. In the evening we will see the Shanghai Acrobats, an unmissable show! (LD)

Day 8, SHANGHAI: Tour ends after breakfast. (B)
